In 2015-16 the Queensland Parliament held an Inquiry into the establishment of a Queensland Health Promotion Commission.
The Queensland Health Promotion Commission Inquiry investigated a model to provide strategic leadership for a united cross-sectoral approach aimed at maintaining and improving the health and wellbeing of Queenslanders by preventing and slowing the increase in chronic illness.
The Commission’s submission discussed a complementary role in promoting prevention, early intervention and community awareness strategies, particularly in relation to mental health and alcohol and other drugs issues.
