Professor Gracelyn Smallwood awarded National NAIDOC Person of the Year

Queensland Mental Health Commissioner Dr Lesley van Schoubroeck and Queensland Mental Health and Drug Advisory Council Chair Professor Harvey Whiteford would like to congratulate Professor Gracelyn Smallwood on being awarded the 2014 National NAIDOC Person of the Year.

Professor Smallwood was recognised for her outstanding contribution to her community and the nation as a whole at the awards ceremony held at the Gold Coast last Friday evening as part of NAIDOC week, which was attended by 1,200 guests from across the country.

Professor Smallwood has dedicated her life to health and human rights advocacy and is a member of the Queensland Mental Health and Drug Advisory Council.
