The Community Leaders Forum, hosted by the Queensland Program of Assistance to Survivors of Torture and Trauma (QPASTT) was attended by around 50 community leaders and was held at the Brisbane Multicultural Centre in Woollongabba.
Three community leaders presented case studies and these were followed by a question and answer session with a panel.
Panel members included Dr Lesley van Schoubroeck, Dr Rebecca Farley (GP and Mater Refugee Health Clinic), Vicki Green (Brisbane South Acute Mental Health) and Rita Prasad-Idles (Queensland Transcultural Mental Health)
Dr van Schoubroeck said “This was a great discussion about the role of community leaders in supporting people with mental health problems.”
