Our role and functions are outlined in our legislation, and are supported by our strategic framework and operational plans.
Our role is to drive reform of the mental health and alcohol and other drugs systems in Queensland.
We identify issues and priorities, advise on reform options, support the efforts of others to implement change, and check progress.
Our functions are the tools we use to make reform happen.
To achieve reform we work in partnership with others. This includes people who have lived experience, their families, carers and supporters, as well as decision-makers, funders, advocates, frontline workers and service providers, in both government and non-government sectors.
Our work contributes to the Queensland Government’s objectives for the community – particularly safeguarding our health and backing our frontline services.
