Metacognitive Interpersonal Therapy for Personality Disorders

This course focuses on metacognitive interpersonal therapy, an integrative therapy with promising results in the treatment of complex and treatment-resistant personality disorders.
Presenter
Giancarlo Dimaggio, MD, psychiatrist and psychotherapist, is a founding member of the Center for Metacognitive Interpersonal Therapy, Rome and a trainer for the Italian Society of Cognitive and Behavior Psychotherapy (SITCC). He has published more than 100 papers on theory, research and treatment of personality disorders and schizophrenia. He has written or edited six books about psychopathology and psychotherapy. He developed Metacognitive Interpersonal Therapy for personality disorders and is training or supervising teams in Denmark, Norway and Portugal.
Who should attend?
Metacognitive interpersonal therapy draws on cognitive behavioural therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy and psychodynamic therapy traditions. Knowledge and practice experience in one of these therapies will enable you to get the most benefit from this course. We expect the course to be especially valuable to psycologists, psychiatrists, mental health professionals, and those working in substance abuse and forensic service areas.
