Join Brisbane LGBTIQ Action Group (BLAG) from 11.00am to 1.30pm at Queens Park, Brisbane to celebrate International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia.
The theme for IDAHOT 2015 is LGBTI Youth.
Activities during the event include:
- Information stalls by service providers
- All service providers can address the crowd for one minute, advising of services they offer to assist people experiencing homo/transphobia
- Group viewing of rainbow flag flying from Brisbane City Hall
- Write your own anti-homo/transphobia message on a whiteboard, take your photo to share on social media, using hashtag #IDAHOT
- A group photo to be taken and sent to Australian Marriage Equality to use in their lobbying
- Performances by HotMale Choir and possibly also Brisbane Lesbian and Gay Pride Choir
- Entertainment and ceremonial aspects of the event are being planned.
The event is followed by a night time viewing of the iconic Story Bridge lit in rainbow lights from 5.30pm at the Wilson Outlook Reserve, Bowen Terrace and Kent Street New Farm.
The event is supported by the Queensland Aids Council (QuAC).
