Applications open for Chairperson, Mental Health and Drug Advisory Council

Interested parties are invited to apply for the role of Chairperson of the Queensland Mental Health and Drug Advisory Council.

The Council provides expert advice to the Queensland Mental Health Commission that helps ensure mental health and alcohol and other drug services are better-integrated, make evidence-based decisions and are focussed on recovery.

The Council also advises the Commission on major issues affecting Queenslanders living with mental illness, mental health difficulties and/or substance misuse. As Chairperson you will lead that work, and lead the Council in championing the cause of these people and their families.

Your suitability for the role will be assessed against your experience, ability to contribute to solutions-focused systemic reform, and ability to offer a broad perspective on mental health and alcohol and drug systems. Full selection criteria are available in the application package.

The Chairperson is appointed for a term of up to three years.
