Griffith University's Australian Institute for Suicide Research and Prevention (AISRAP) is hosting the World Suicide Prevention Day Community Forum on 10 September 2019.
World Suicide Prevention Day offers the opportunity to focus on raising awareness of suicide prevention and engaging with local and global stakeholders.
The theme this year is Working together to prevent suicide.
The full-day forum includes guest presentations from leading academics in the field of suicidology, as well as national and local stakeholders, community members and people with lived experience.
Presenters include:
- Professor Ella Arensman, Chief Scientist, National Suicide Research Foundation and Research Professor, School of Public Health, University College, Cork, Ireland.
- Professor Jane Pirkis, Director, Centre for Mental Health, Melbourne School of Population and Global Health at the University of Melbourne, and Vice President of the International Association for Suicide Prevention.
- Magistrate Christine Clements, Coroners Court of Queensland.
