QMHC Submission, Productivity Commission Inquiry into Mental Health, January 2020

A submission by the Queensland Mental Health Commission responds to the Draft Report of the Productivity Commission Inquiry into Mental Health.

The QMHC supports the strategic intent behind the draft report's recommendations and has highlighted some key areas that could strengthen the final report, particularly in relation to:

• lived experience engagement
• person-centred approaches
• community-based supports and
• investment in prevention and early intervention.

The Commission has also commented on the question of whether to "renovate or rebuild" the system.
